ACTS will proudly host the ninth annual Green Gown Awards Australasia ceremony on Thursday 1 November 2018 at The University of Adelaide’s National Wine Centre. Located next to Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens in the northeast corner of the city centre it will set a spectacular scene for the gala dinner – the “green tie” highlight of the annual sustainability calendar!
Delivered in conjunction with the 18th International ACTS Conference dinner this is a night to embrace all things sustainable, recognising and rewarding those delivering sustainability excellence.
The highly anticipated Awards ceremony brings together the leaders and drivers of sustainability initiatives within the tertiary education sector. It highlights the sector’s achievements and allows delegates the opportunity to network and be inspired by the sector’s finalists.

The event will commence at 6:15pm with drinks in the reception, followed by dinner at 7:00pm including a 3 course specially prepared chef’s menu featuring local, ethical produce. The Awards ceremony takes place during and after the dinner service from 7:00 – 11pm. Live entertainment (to be announced soon) will finish at 12:00am.
The National Wine Centre of Australia is a public exhibition building about winemaking and its industry in South Australia, opened in 2001. It contains an interactive permanent exhibition of winemaking, introducing visitors to the technology, varieties and styles of wine. It also has a wine tasting area, giving visitors the opportunity to taste and compare wines from different areas of Australia.
The Wine Centre is situated at the eastern end of North Terrace, Adelaide in the east parklands and adjacent to the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. The building designed by Cox Grieve Gillett uses building materials to reflect items used in making wine. The exterior of the building looks like a section of a wine barrel. Outside the building are rows of grapevines, showing seven different varieties of grapes to curious visitors who normally wouldn’t have access to a vineyard to see the differences for themselves.
Found at the corner of Botanic & Hackney Roads, Adelaide, South Australia 5000, you can take a scenic walk through the Botanic Gardens and enter either via the pedestrian entrance on Botanic Road — the extension to North Terrace — or from our main entrance on Hackney Road.

Our Awards themselves highlight our ethos! The Green Gown Awards Australasia trophies have again been made completely from recycled glass by Victorian artist Kirsten Laken. Each beautiful trophy is truly one of a kind. Our highly commended institutions will take home certificates
